The standard we build to

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That’s a target we design and build against rather than a certification we hold.

What that means in practice

• Semantic HTML, one logical heading order per page.
• Full keyboard operation, with a focus ring we never remove.
• Menus open on focus, close on Escape. Nothing needs a hover.
• A skip link straight to the main content.
• AA contrast in every section colour.
• Descriptive alt text on every meaningful image; decorative ones hidden.
• Real form labels, described errors, states you can see without colour.
• Relative units throughout, so text scales with your browser.
• Every page renders complete with motion and JavaScript off.

Reduced motion

If your system is set to reduce motion, this site does not animate. Scroll choreography, page transitions, the moving marquee and the auto-advancing news rail are all switched off, and every element renders in its final state immediately. That is enforced in code, not applied section by section.

What isn’t finished

• Some third-party embeds — the donation checkout and hosted application forms — are outside our control. We test them, but we can’t fix them. If one blocks you, tell us and we will take your information another way.
• The site is currently English-only. Translated resources are published through Language Lifeline, and the site itself is a candidate for the same treatment.
• Some photography is still placeholder. Alt text describes what is actually shown, so a few descriptions will change when the real images land.
